Allergy Forecast Warns of High Pollen Levels in Eastern U.S.
Allergy sufferers in the eastern United States, including New Jersey, should brace themselves for a tough allergy season ahead. AccuWeather’s 2024 allergy forecast predicts very high pollen levels during two of the three main phases of allergy season for states along the Atlantic seaboard.
The forecast indicates that tree pollen will be a major issue this spring, starting earlier than usual due to trees and plants budding ahead of schedule in warmer than average conditions. While grass pollen levels are expected to be below average in most of New Jersey and other eastern states, tree pollen and weed pollen levels are predicted to be worse than usual.
However, allergy sufferers may find some relief during the grass pollen phase with below-average levels predicted for much of the Eastern seaboard. For those affected by pollen allergies, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America recommends starting allergy medicine before pollen season, limiting outdoor activities when pollen counts are high, keeping windows closed during pollen season, and washing clothes and bedding regularly to remove pollen.
It’s essential for allergy sufferers to stay informed about current weather conditions and follow local news sources like NJ.com for updates on pollen levels and allergy tips. By taking proactive steps to manage their allergies, individuals can hopefully find some relief during this particularly challenging allergy season.
