Google’s Find My Device network is expanding its capabilities to include support for AirTag-like trackers on Android devices next month. The setup process for these trackers involves using Fast Pair to easily link them to the Find My Device app.
A recent demo video showcased the setup process of Pebblebee’s Card tracker using a Pixel phone. By double-pressing a button on the tracker, users can quickly start the setup process through Fast Pair, making it a seamless experience to pair the tracker with the app.
Once paired, users have access to various features such as viewing the tracker’s location on a map, playing a sound on it to locate it, or even sharing the device with another user. The setup process and functionality are expected to be similar for other Android-compatible trackers from brands like Chipolo and Eufy.
The entire setup process takes less than a minute, utilizing apps that are already available on your device. With this new feature, users may be considering purchasing a tracker to take advantage of the Find My Device network’s tracking capabilities. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
