Battlestate, the developer of the popular game Escape from Tarkov, has issued a second statement in response to backlash from players. The controversy stemmed from the decision to lock an exclusive Player vs Environment (PvE) mode behind a €300 special edition of the game.
In the statement, Chief Operating Officer Nikita Buyanov expressed apologies for the controversy and announced that the PvE mode will now be available for free to all owners of the End of Darkness (EoD) version. This decision comes after the company faced criticism for breaking its promise to provide all subsequent downloadable content (DLC) to EoD owners.
Buyanov acknowledged the oversight and outlined plans to gradually open the PvE mode for EoD owners in waves as server capacity allows. Additionally, the company will be adding mod support after the game’s release. Although the Unheard edition will not be removed, it will undergo balancing to provide more rewards for those who upgraded at the original price.
Furthermore, new perks for EoD owners will be balanced and the team will remove the prioritized matching option to ensure fairness for all players. Battlestate also revealed that they will add more unique content to highlight the EoD version and will continue to release patches, content, and events.
In conclusion, Buyanov thanked the community for their feedback and assured players that updates will be available soon. The company remains dedicated to addressing the situation and providing the best gaming experience for all players. Stay tuned for more updates on Escape from Tarkov on World News Live.
