Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch lower-cost AirPods later this year, as analyst Jeff Pu revealed. The new AirPods will be supplied by a Foxconn subsidiary, with increased assembly expected at a factory in India by the end of 2024.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to unveil two fourth-generation AirPods models in September or October. These models will include entry-level and mid-tier options, featuring a new design for better fit, improved sound quality, and an updated charging case with a USB-C port.
The mid-tier model is set to include advanced features like active noise cancellation and a speaker for Find My location tracking. It remains unclear whether the lower-cost AirPods are the same as the entry-level fourth-generation AirPods.
Pu also anticipates the release of updated AirPods Max in the fourth quarter of 2024, with the only new feature being a USB-C charging port. Additionally, new color options may be introduced for the over-ear headphones.
Apple’s upcoming AirPods releases are generating significant excitement among tech enthusiasts and Apple enthusiasts alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly-anticipated product launch on World News Live.
