SpaceX has reached another milestone in its Starship program with the successful static fire of the Starship 30, marking the fifth mission of the project. The test involved firing all 6 Raptor engines for approximately 4 seconds at the Massey’s test site.
Approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is now awaited for the potential fourth flight of Starship. A new flame trench and mobile test stand have been added at the test site to facilitate future static fires.
Super Heavy Booster 12 has undergone 2 cryo-proof tests and could potentially pair with Starship 30 for a flight within the next month. Testing of the launch mount and chopstick arms for catching Super Heavy Boosters is also ongoing at Starbase.
Additionally, Super Heavy Booster 13 has also undergone 2 cryo-proof tests. Super Heavy Booster 11 and Starship 29 are expected to move back to the launch site for stacking and wet dress rehearsal in the coming month.
SpaceX is currently awaiting launch approval from the FAA for upcoming flights. For any questions or comments, interested parties can reach out to [email protected] or @RDAnglePhoto on Twitter.
